I stayed at this location with a friend for a wedding in town. I was sent an updated invoice after checkout stating that I have been charged for smoking in my room. I called to let him know that this is a mistake because neither I, nor the other guest, are smokers. I was laughed at by the general manager Charles Adeniken. He proceeded to call me a liar and make claims that he has ways to “prove” I am a smoker. I continued to attempt to let him know that this was a mistake. He then decided to hang up on me. I contacted the corporate Customer Care department. Each representative I spoke with would not give me any information besides their first name (no last name, title, contact information). I spoke with 4 separate representatives each claiming that they were the previous’ supervisor. They would not budge on the charge due to their “policy” about this location being independently owned and operated. I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and Chamber of Commerce. I have also personally written the Board of Directors and Customer Care department.

I called to get some info regarding a room and the lady that answered the phone wasn't any help and she was really rude just cutting my conversation off saying she had to go, because I didn't want to book the one room that they had after I specifically told her I was checking availability for certain days at the beginning of the conversation. Need to really work on customer service skills big time!

On the surface, the hotel seemed fine - until the fridge in my room started running non-stop and sprung a leak. The whole room smelled awful. I had to unplug the fridge, and there were no maintenance personnel on site for days to fix it. So, no fridge. The air conditioning unit in the room would pop and crack loudly every time it switched to fan mode, making for anything but restful sleep. When I brought these issues to the attention of the front desk, they took a minuscule amount of money off of my total bill. No, I do not plan on staying here again.

We were charged $300 dollars for "a smoke smell that required the room be shut down and cleaned" the week after attending a wedding at the Hyatt in the area. My roommate and I are non-smokers and were in a non smoking ballroom the entire night. When we contacted the general manager he was very unprofessional and wouldn't budge on the subject. Their national contact line was not of any assistance either. So be wary of this best western stealing your money, laughing at you, and you not having much recourse. Best western has lost us as customers for life over this incident, as well as anyone we make recommendations to.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!!! My brother in law was here visiting family from out of town and had his $300 yeti cooler stolen from out of the bed of his pick-up in broad day light! Not only that but the night before two different people had a generator stolen and $1500 stolen out of their Excursion! The staff is very aware of the the issue and the management REFUSE to put in video surveillance! If you want to have peace at night while you sleep (like you should at a hotel) avoid this hotel!

We live in Bastrop, and needed a hotel while repairs were happening at our residence for two days. We arrived from a beach vacation with lots of stuff. When we checked out, I inadvertently left a waterproof bag in the closet containing spillable items -- shampoo, conditioner, suntan lotion, detergent and other items. As soon as we got home and unpacked I realized that my Aveda necessities were not in the car, and remembered where I left them. I called the hotel, they said the room was occupied (it was 10pm), and they'd call me in the morning. They didn't call, so I called -- response was that nothing was in lost and found and when someone finally went up and opened the closet door the items were not there. I stopped by the hotel, thinking my presence might make a difference, but the hotel attendant, appearing sympathetic, was not interested or motivated to make any restitution. The rooms were clean, the public parts of the hotel were new and very nice. (The door on the stairwell, however was always open and the outside door unlocked). Unfortunately it appears that there are some honesty issues with someone on the hotel staff. I am a Bastrop resident and would never recommend this hotel to visitors!
