Great steps to remember when we talk to each other. Of course, remember that mindfulness is always a work in progress.....
1. Fully arrive.
2. Breathe in curiosity and breathe out stability
3. Connect to the generous interpretation.

Happy summer everyone!!!!

We can sing or recite the Loving Kindness meditation before bed, when we wake up, before we do a Peace Path or when we are feeling overwhelmed.

Our Peace Path is easy to use, try it out at home and let us know how it worked. Remember to begin by practicing the Loving Kindness Meditation first, then agreeing to listen with our hearts by Having Patience, using Eye Contact, Asking Questions, Removing Distractions and Being Trustworthy. You are now ready to begin, Yellow feet go first.

Dear PS 130 Community,

As we navigate through these challenging and painful times together we might find some comfort and guidance in our own childhood memories of Mr. Rogers, when he would help us understand our feelings and those of others.

His foundation’s article on death in the link below is very helpful in understanding the importance of answering children’s questions about death. Hoping that his eloquent and nurturing voice as he describes his own loss as a child for a beloved pet may warm our heart and give us courage and comfort throughout the days to come.

In our second grade classrooms we also practiced singing the song "Breathe in Peace and Breathe Out Love" https://youtu.be/5Vnr30jYQQ4 to help us when we are having strong feelings. Another song that is very helpful is the Loving Kindness Song https://youtu.be/7YGaumwvKyM.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to us at 718 686 2270 or 718 686 1940.

With love
Mariasara and Erin
