It's launched! This was the story I was working on in the Philippines :) It's a great story, cause, and Winston trusted Google Maps on his Android phone to guide him the whole way!

great spot! main attraction delicious chicken and pork yakitori! other highlights: pork belly, karaage. wash it down with ice cold draft beer and nihonshu. went here to feast on a weeknight with a group of 5 and got out for less than 4,000¥ / person. highly recommended!

Terrific Tex-Mex style Mexican food in a beautiful 9th floor outdoor terrace, complete with fireplace (indoor seating available). We had juicy steak fajitas, tacos (al pastor! fried fish!), guacamole and chips, and margaritas. For a California guy desiring a taste of home, this really hit the spot, and the prices were quite reasonable (6000¥ for 2 incl. a few drinks!). Highly recommended.

My favorite place to meet up with friends before a bike ride across the Golden Gate bridge en route to Sausalito and Tiburon. If you haven't biked Paradise Loop, you're missing out! Fill up your water bottles and pump up your tires here and you'll be good to go. Lots of free parking. Tons of gear to shop to your sporty hearts' delight. Huge amount of bike, running and swimming clothes, gear and accessories. They often have shopping partieis and discounts, so keep an eye out for that. They also have 10% corporate discounts, so remember to ask.

There's really only one reason to come here. Order the #25 dry large, aka the fabled "Crack noodles" and if you somehow finish, ask for extra noodles. Pair up your bowl of deliciousness with cha gio (egg rolls) and cafe sua da (vietnamese iced coffee) and leave with a big smile on your face. Make sure you call ahead, because they close randomly without warning! Also bring cash, or else you'll have to use the scariest ATM in the world at the nearby liquor store.

A pretty standard little bar in SOMA that we stopped by for a bit during the raucous How Weird Street Faire. Friendly bartenders serve a variety of beers on tap and the usual cocktails. We ordered a few rounds of Coronas and shots of Jameson Whiskey and they were only $5 a pop! A bit crowded, but the chill vibe, cheap prices and quick service make it a good place to drop in.

A "speakeasy" off montgomery that's, true to form, a little tricky to spot. Look for the big clock in the window. After you walk down the stairs you'll find a classy open space with a long bar and lots of reserved tables. The bartenders are true craftsmen (and women) who will artfully construct your cocktail, when you're looking for standards like manhattans and sazeracs, or their own specialties, all excellently balanced. This was the IT bar for a while, but has calmed down a bit and is still a great classy place to grab a drink.

I'm hesitant to rate this place because I want to keep it a secret! Delicious sashimi and poke that won't break the bank. There's also no line in this really unassuming mom and pop shop in the 24th st corridor in the Mission. You can get slabs of sashimi to share (the salmon and yellowtail are highlights) for $9 and spicy salmon or tuna poke for only $6. Other highlights are the softshell crab sandwich and clam chowder!

A lively and hip new rooftop bar that replaces the Medjool classic. Worried about the cold? Don't fret, since they have tons of heat lamps and wind-blocking tarps. The cocktails are delicious, we got the Pimm's Cup, Pina colada and a Pisco sour. Definitely try the amazing fried chicken and share a mountain of chicaronnes, both are salty and sweet. The elotes were also tasty, but I'd skip the chicken skewers. The queue might be a little long on the weekends, but you can pop into sister restaurant Lolinda for drinks while you wait!

Right in the heart of the fun and hip Hayes Valley neighborhood is this cute little ice cream shoppe. The main draw of this place is that you get to WATCH the staff make your ice cream on the spot, complete with billowing fog from the liquid nitrogen. So fun! I like the fresh mint chip and salted caramel. The ice cream here is a lil more shaved-icey than creamy, but some people might prefer that. Would highly recommend checking out the nearby Bi Rite for a taste test :)
