A New York institution. I swear, if they ever close Gray's Papaya... I'm leaving NYC. This is no "Dirty Water" dog. It's a snappy, beefy grilled hot dog. "Sauteed" onions (really, it's just diced onions in some kind of red sauce), sauerkraut, mustard. *sigh* Even ketchup for people with the palate of a 3 year old. And the obligatory drink... the Pina Colada is my fave... as a Rescission Special, $4.45 for two franks and a drink. Perfection. No credit/debit cards. No seats. And depending on the time of day, the line is out the door. But it's fast. It's filling. It's authentic New York.

Great spot for a quick hot dog while on the run. The hot dogs are good and they are fast. Perfect spot if you are on your way to an event or coming out from one. Always great price and responsive service.

Old fashioned natural casing beef frankfurter, kosher style, same as Nathan's and Katz' but thinner. Same, exactly, as Papaya King. Best price deal in town. Went with 15 year old grandson today and we had 6 hot dogs for a snack and a Coconut champagne drink.......all for less than $20. It's a machaya (that's a good thing). Returned today with 12 year old grandson who is a hot dog expert. We started at Walter's in Mamaroneck then here then to Papaya King. He prefers Papaya King on east 86th Street. I prefer here. BOTH EXCELLENT

The filet mignon of hotdogs. Although I have Papaya King more often, (closer to me) nothing beats a Gray's Papaya recession special. 2 dogs and a fresh fruit drink. If your looking for a good quick bite on your way to the Beacon theater before a show, this is the place to go.

All night hotdog stand that packs sauerkraut for cheap...cant beat it. Not the greatest place to get a hotdog but for a quick bite and run its not too bad.

Looking for a fast, cheap stop during your sightseeing? This is a great place for you, or the locals. Located on the charming Upper West Side, this glorified hot dog stand was featured in the movie, "You've Got Mail." The food is great, as far as hot dogs go, and the papaya drink is wonderfully refreshing.
