Great outdoor patio for a beer and a burger on a nice day, or camp out at the bar and inspect the dozens of taps. Father's Office has the second best burger in LA., a perfect balance of bitter from the arugula, the gooey cheese, and the perfect patty. All the sides are good, from the standard fries to the salads and of course the, "Wait, what part of the... which animal?" specials. Bar service only, which can be annoying, but is quick most of the time. Parking is also in flux as Helms works on some renovations.

Finally had a chance to see what the hubbub is all about, and the Father's Office burger is everything it's cracked up to be! As a burger aficionado and connoisseur, I'm constantly cataloging the best burgers around LA, and this is definitely top 10. A must-see for anyone that loves burgers, or is even just looking for a great place to dine, drink, and chat with new or old friends.

The food is positively disgusting. The eel and the hamburger. Eel oversmoked, hamburger too sweet. Good selection of beers. Service terrible and hands-off.

Good place to drink and the burgers are really good. I've just gone for lunch and it's really uncomfortable ordering at the bar for food. It's also really crowded. Maybe I'm getting old, but nothing is worth fighting through a crowd. I'd rather go to J&J Burger on Adams. Great unpretentious ghetto burger and go buy your favorite beer at the liquor store and drink it from a brown paper bag. That's real Gastropub eatin!

Their drink selection is outstanding. Beautiful array of beers on tap and the bartenders are on point matching you up with your food with some libation you may not have had before. Nice outdoor patio and nicely designed bar area. Rare office burger with sweet potato fries and a drink or two is truly heavenly. I love their focus on natural textures and flavors. Seating is difficult to come by though during busy times, as it does get very packed. A true staple stop for when I have friends out of town.

Waiters are unfriendly, then give you the obligatory "Was everything to your satisfaction?" when you order the check. quite shameless... went there with over 10 people for food and drinks. i don't get the place, it tries to be fancy, but it really isn't. you have to order EVERYTHING at the bar, once they bring you your food, if you want anything else you'll just have to get up struggle through the bar in order to place a new order while you leave your food by itself... I tried the steak and the burger. both were totally fine, but nothing special. the burger is decent really, but who would expect anything else for that price? the steak was ok, but really small, and I've had much better steak in cheaper and more expensive places. but what killed it for me was the crap waiters, really. tables outside are two feet separate from each other. we pulled two of them together (because we were so many people that we were actually occupying two entire tables), but they rushed over and said we couldn't do that. which I honestly don't get, bc they're not waiting the tables anyway. I mean they bring you the food, but they never walk between the tables, so what do they care whether we push two together? then my friend pud his head on the table for literally less than 30 seconds, then another waiter rushed over to say we couldn't do that either. what's that about? how about just asking him if he's ok? offering him a glass of water? he wasn't drunk, hadn't even had a single beer. then you smoke outside as requested but the doorman comes after you if you cross a line. like I said, I don't get the place: they're soooo restrictive in their attitude and so unrelaxed, how are the custoers supposed to have a fun time?? afterwards I regretted leaving a tip. I mean, you have to order at the bar anyway, and they were so unpleasant and stuck up, but when I went to the bar to settle my bill, he gave me that super-enthusiastic "Was everything to your satisfaction?". I should have called him out on his bs...

It would get 5 stars if the service wasn't weird having you order at the bar and poor seating. Probably the best burger in L.A. with pretty good fries. Gastropub eats at its finest.

Probably the best burger I've ever had and great selection of beers. Can get pretty busy though. No kids allowed.
