In June they decided to go nut free. The regular cakes like the chocolate espresso hazelnut cupcake and the almond bundt cake were not available as they were changing recipes. Perfectly makes sense. Then we order the turtle cheesecake and the Chocolate raspberry cupcake. My cupcake had sunk in and was over dosed with whipped cream to take the shape of a pretty cupcake. Even worse to find the turtle cheesecake topped with nuts!!

Hi there. We are so sorry you had a negative experience. Did you let your server know or ask for a manager so that they could make it right for you? We also have not gone nut free, to clarify for everyone. We also don't use whipped cream, as we are a vegan establishment. We hope you'll give us another try! Have a great evening :)

This place is only good if you've completely forgotten what real pastries/desserts are supposed to taste like. First time we came we didn't know it was Vg/GF, and we all almost spit out our very pricey desserts. I make GF/DF stuff at home all the time that tastes 10x better. Just not a fan. Sorry. 😕

I had a slice of blackberry cherry pie here. It was $6.99 for one slice and you couldn't even tell it was pie from the messy appearance on the plate. I took two bites before deciding it was the worst pie I have ever had. It was overly sweet and the crust tasted like cornstarch. The only saving grace for this bakery is the cute appearance and friendly staff. Luckily I was able to get a refund for the slice of pie.

This is a follow up to an earlier response from the owner on another post. Regarding the nut free comment: I asked the person minding the register on why the Chocolate Espresso Hazelnut Cupcake is not featured on your menu anymore. The response was "we are changing some recipes to accommodate those with nut allergies. So we do not have that cake anymore." So it is consistent with the other comment. I had the same chocolate and raspberry cupcake today. The cake has sunk all the way and was sticking to the cup cake liner. The cake was 90% "cream" (for lack of a vegan term) and sugar with a dash of chocolate cake. I think it would have been better to not feature a sunk cup cake on the menu at all today.

I happened to be out at New Seasons grabbing a bite to eat and my eyes found cup of chocolate mocha mousse. This was wonderful because I needed chocolate that was rich and creamy on a spoon. I didn't see that it was vegan or gluten free but it didn't matter. This delightful cup was a slightly odd but not unpleasant texture prompted me to actually read the silly label. I laughed as I read and smiled wide with each mouth full. I bought two more cups for late dinner treat when I got home and for a lunch treat. Thanks for the wonderful treats.

This place is oh so wonderful! We drove from central Washington to Portland for a concert trip not thinking we would find a place where we would become regulars... But we did and it's petunias. We made small talk one day with the owner and came back the next morning, he pretty much already knew what we were going to get. They truly do care! Next time I'm in portland, they should expect to be seeing me!

Pleasantly surprised by their breakfast. A good bowl of oatmeal and superb coffee. A bit pricer than I'd expect for what we got, but recommendation-worthy.

I was in Portland for my 30th birthday and purchased a slice of carrot cake from Petunia's. It was the best carrot cake I've ever had! Tons of great GF options that are hard to find elsewhere. I only wish that there was one here in AZ.
