"Today was absolute magic. We hung out with 450 year old trees, sat by a beautiful lake, hiked up to this knob in the snow, and above all spent time with dear friends." @rhecklefreckle

Our State Magazine names Pop & Nana's Kitchen and The Scoop in Robbinsville as a "Mountain Breakfast Spot Worthy of a Wake-Up Call." Pop & Nana’s Kitchen is a popular spot for traveling bikers (Harleys, not 10-speeds). The veteran-owned restaurant offers a down-home mountain breakfast reminiscent of the food you probably ate at your own grandparents’ house. Fill up on a plate of giant blueberry pancakes, or ask for Carl’s famous oatmeal. https://www.ourstate.com/32-breakfast-spots-in-western-nc/

Sunset from Huckleberry Knob, the highest point easily reachable from the Cherohala Skyway. Huckleberry Knob provides a magnificent panorama of the Unicoi Mountains. The wide trail—actually an old road—makes for an easy family hike, 2.4-miles round-trip. Traveling west on the Cherohala Skyway from Robbinsville, the trailhead is located on the right about a half-mile beyond mile marker 9, that is, about 8.5 miles from the Tennessee border.
