Lüke New Orleans is Besh’s homage to the grand old Franco-German brasseries that once reigned in New Orleans. Lüke offers an extensive French, German, and Belgian beer selection, including three exclusive house brews [custom-made in Louisiana]. The cuisine is unaffectedly Old World, using slow and traditional cooking techniques. The wine list features reds and whites from the Loire, Alsace, and Savoie regions, as well as Badischerwiens of Germany. Since opening in 2007, Lüke has been hailed by Condé Nast Traveler, Travel + Leisure, and The Times-Picayune Lagniappe, which awarded Lüke an impressive three bean-ranking for its “disarmingly home-spun culinary touches and broad-shouldered dishes that satisfy something more than just an appétit.”

Happy hour for the win!! It really can't get any better than 50 cents an oyster. The oysters were fresh, large and delicious. They come pre-shucked so you don't have to do any dirty work. Simply season them to your liking and slurp it down. it was notable that none of the 60 oysters that we ordered had any sand in them. Lüke -- you've really impressed me! The servers were friendly and checked on us frequently. Unlike most restaurants, happy hour applies to the whole establishment so you don't have to scout out a seat at the bar. Half price on wine, beer and specialty cocktails. Now if only I can find an oyster spot like this back home.... This was one of my fav's in Naw'Leans! John Besh, you've made a fan outta me!

Just a dissappointment. Pretentious and snouty (?). We had lunch there and they sat us at different tables. The meals were salty and the service was ok. This was my second time there and same kind of ambience. NOT KID friendly and expensive for the quality of food.

Came here for brunch. The restaurant is nice and connected to the Hilton. Started out with some stuffed oysters and gumbo which were both great. I'm not a big seafood person by the oysters and gumbo didn't taste fishy at all. Sprinkle in some Tabasco sauce for a kick. We also tried the fried chicken biscuit and crawfish etouffee. The etouffee has pasta that looks like maggots but if you can get past that visual it's a great dish. The chicken biscuit was amazing and probably the best item we tried. We waited a while for the food before inquiring and the waiter found out there was some miscommunication in the kitchen. They brought out the food all at once but took off the charge for the oysters. I appreciated the honesty and professionalism of the staff!

We went to Luke during happy hours and had a few dozens of raw oysters. The oysters were very fresh. The waiters were very friendly. We are planning to go back again in a couple of days.

Everyone who visits New Orleans comes away with a story... well here is ours. After a couple of really hot days and with only one dinner left before traveling back home to Memphis, my wife and I decided to try Luke being fans of the chef and it coming highly recommended from friends and others who had visited the area. Upon being seated towards the front of the dining space on a two top next to two other couples we began trying to navigate the menu and how to narrow down all of the delicious offerings. As wise shopper should, we looked to our left and right to see what everyone had ordered and see if we should do the same. We noticed one couple next to us had decided to share the ribeye/steak. Unfortunately they were upset about how medium rare, their medium steak turned out and called for the waiter to complain. To our immediate dismay the gentleman decided to let the waiter have it even though the wait staff immediately apologized and quickly removed the steak to make it right. After the gentleman asked for the manager my wife looked at me and quietly said, "Do you think they are trying to get a free meal?" I dismissed it, but was wrong as the man immediately told his date that he felt the reason the steak was undercooked and not to his liking was because... (ready for this)... he was gay. His date replied, "Do they even know you're gay?" My thoughts exactly. Once the manager approached the gentleman asked to speak to him away from the table and let him have it explaining how his steak was undercooked and how somehow his sexual preference must be involved. I'll be honest, it made me sick to watch it all unfold. The manager of course helped calm the situation and replaced his waiter with another team (by the way, it turns our his original waiter was gay too) but this man didn't care and felt the restaurant owed him something. Luke bent over backwards to help this man enjoy his dinner and in the end comp'ed his meal - entire meal, wine, steaks, etc. My review here is to compliment the manager Derrick and the servers Gary and Tristian on how professionally they managed a challenging situation. I hated to see it all unfold especially with such circumstances, but had to tell the tale that we took home with us. If you're looking to be treated well and enjoy a delightful meal, Luke is a excellent option. My wife and I share the burger and loved the bisque, oyster salads and special cocktails. Dessert was delightful and thanks to the amazing front house team we will return and tell others our tale while encouraging others to put Luke on your New Orleans must visit list. From all of the reviews here, I think my next visit will be during happy hour!

Had the steak (entrecôte), étouffée, moules frites, and the Brussel sprouts. It was all d-e-l-Icious! The staff are friendly, professional, and fun. I love French food and this place is a little piece of Paris for your pallet.

Dinner at Luke was truly an amazing experience. My boyfriend and I were so excited to try this place, being that it's a John Besh restaurant. We had the oysters for an app- they were soooo good. For my meal, I had the mussels which were tender and delicious. My boyfriend had the drum with the amandine sauce which was also very good. The house cabernet wine and the French 75 was great!!! Last but not least, the service was literally the best we've ever had and that's what made it such an amazing experience.

Delicious seafood, prepared in the visible, 'open' kitchen. I always believed that oysters should be raw, but these PJ-stuffed ones are also a good choice.
