Aaargh!
The decade of the 1980s was a strange one for aftermarket car electronics. You could put a fake car-phone antenna on your decklid or a real black-and-white 2" screen TV in your car's dash, ...

Here come the T-34s... quick, drive away in the Benz. Oh, wait, WHO LOST THE KEYS??!?
A car at the Pebble Beach Concours that was known to have competed in a legendary race is considered a big deal. You probably can't afford such a car, but you can afford the keys to a car (or truck) ...

It is good at a few things and bad at everything else. You should get one.
The race series that employs me, the 24 Hours of LeMons, is now in its busiest part of the year, and that means I don't always have time to drive something suitable for a Race Organizer Review to ...

All you can carry for $59.99!
Going to your local wrecking yard on Half Off Everything Sale Day is always fun, but there's an even better (though much rarer) type of junkyard sale: All-You-Can-Carry Day! Twenty years ago, ...

My photos from Pikes Peak.
The 93rd running of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb took place on Sunday, and we saw broken records, crazy weather, and electric-powered machinery challenging internal-combustion vehicles for ...

No rust. Two-tone. AC. 392 engine. Getting crushed.
One thing about living in Denver is that I see quite a few International Harvester vehicles in the local wrecking yards. Mostly Scouts, of course, but the occasional pickup or Travelall shows up as ...

The new Project Car Hell is out!
One thing that makes a project car especially hellish — yet rewarding — is the choice of a car that hasn't become particularly collectible yet. You know that one day this overlooked ...

This Maserati never did 185.
While General Motors was busy flying Pininfarina-ized shortened Eldorados to Cambiano, Italy, and back, Lee Iacocca had inked a big deal with Maserati to build Maserati-ized LeBarons in Milan. The car ...

Poor sad abandoned clown car, with its idled off-center wheels and silent PA speakers.
During my recent journey to work at the fifth annual Pacific Northworst 24 Hours of LeMons, held at The Ridge Motorsports Park in Shelton, Washington, I spotted an unusual-looking old Toyota Corona in ...

I said it was the Daewoo Lanos.
My very first car was a 1969 Toyota Corona sedan – a beige Corona sedan, which cost 50 bucks at the corner gas station

Sure, Hyundai makes some nice cars now, but the original Hyundai Excel— just about the only new US-market car in the mid-to-late 1980s that could come close to competing with the Yugo GV on ...
