Any body using Better Cloud? Is it worth the money? Seems kind of pricey considering that they charge for suspended users. Is there another service that anyone is using?

No, which is why I was considering BetterCloud. There is not a Google management platform in Cloudlock. However, I had both systems scan our network on a free trial and the results were astounding with CloudLock VS BetterCloud so from my perspective the security and Audit features outweighed the extra features of BetterCloud. I felt the email auditing was worthless. I can essentially do the same thing in Vault and I use keyword filters built into good for students and staff so it was not a huge selling point for me. One of the things I really liked about CL was the encryption feature. Rather than having to use a local tool to encrypt sensitive files and push to drive, CL encrypts rite on drive with a right click context menu. If you would like to talk about reports feel free to call me 806-399-5012 and I would be willing to discuss in more detail.

So, I received this from my Supt who received it from a board member. My response is basically the same as google's response. They're not selling your kid's information using GAFE. Does anybody have a good, well written rebuttal that I could share with my Supt and Board? I've already shared google's official blog statement that's referenced in the article.
Once a bit player in schools, Google has become a dominant force. But parents in many school districts can't opt-out of the company's tracking.

Interactive whiteboard or interactive projector?

My district has been using Promethean boards for about two years, I am less than thrilled with their compatibility with mac OS X Yosemite, and I am disappointed that they have done nothing to achieve compatibility with chrome books. Does anybody have a recommendation for an interactive whiteboard or, an interactive projector that I would be happy with?

+Stephen Gale Wow I could not agree more with this statement. Im noticing now that our teachers in the 6-8 grades with the push to full 1:1 are no longer using their IWB and are just using them as projectors. Its sad because thats a very expensive projector. I do still however see our primary teachers (who are not really 1:1) using their IWB the way they were intended.

Quick question.  Does anybody have an app that they use to track processes?  I'm in a small school district with no HR department.  We want to make sure to be able to assign tasks in a process to people and notify certain people when stuff like background checks have been completed, or accounts need to be (or have been) set up.

Form Ranger (by New Visions) may be an option.  I haven't played with it, but it has several options in relation to Google Forms.

I have built my own Google Form script that does something similar to what you are asking, but have been having problems with it and am not confident enough to release it pubically.  If you want to take a look at the work flow and make whatever adjustments, I'd gladly share it privately with you.

About two years ago, we change the structure of our email addresses for our groups. Groups used to be all one word run together, now they are words separated out by underscores. Some of us are still seeing the old groups in our remembered email addresses when we start typing in the group name. Is there anyway to perch the remembered email addresses in Gmail?

I looked through the GAM documentation and wasn't able to find a way to delete individual contacts. Bummer :-(

I have students who are being inappropriate using the chat feature of Google Docs. Is there a way for me to see their chat history? I am on a time crunch with the answer to this question.

+Kim Nilsson Funnily enough the 'chats' were being report for 'built in' (at least from each person to the chat robot), but we could not get contents back. We pulled them from the report because they were confusing.

So I do not have a directory system, like active directory. I do have a student information system, Google apps, and lots of other "log in" services (Galileo benchmark testing, accelerated reader, beyond text books, etc.). Does anybody know of an easy way for me to automatically sync all of my services without a directory system?

Looking to check out a touchscreen chromebook.  The Lenovo Yoga 11e looks interesting.  Anyone have any experience or other suggestions?

Our district has been purchasing the Acer c720 Touchscreen CBs and been happy with them.  I wish there were more websites & apps that took advantage of the touch feature, but it's limited.

It is so refreshing to see the library truly trying to engage children as 21st century learners. I love that they have more of a social media presence and are doing so many STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Math) based events. While I understand that many are used to just showing up to events at the library, I understand the importance of registering for these events as supplies must be requisitioned and I can appreciate that the library is fiscally responsible enough to only buy what is needed. As someone who lives in Palominas, I cannot express how useful it is to be able to find out what is going on at the library through facebook rather than having to go to the library to discover it. Also, it is great that there is an online offering for those of us who use digital devices to read books. Finally, I find it commendable that the library is focusing on helping students understand information literacy and how they can independently find, assess, analyze, share and curate information from all different sources. Kudos to Ms. Scherrer and the library staff for really bringing us into the 21st century!
