• Data Centers in India: Challenges and Opportunities:
This session will include senior Government officials in India that are seeking to invite Cloud service providers to open Data centers in India and discuss available opportunities. Cloud providers (Amazon, Microsoft, Google, IBM, and others) will discuss some of the challenges they face with respect to regulation, guaranteed cheap electricity supply, skills, etc. The goal is to get broader discussion on important policy issues that help enable or cripple development of Warehouse scale Data centers in India.

To mark 25 years of HiPC, a special lecture and several celebratory events are planned. The conference technical program held on days 2, 3 and 4 will showcase three keynote speakers and three days of single track presentations of 33 peer reviewed papers from all over the world. Tutorials will be held on December 16.

Student Research Symposium (SRS)

HiPC 2018 will feature the 11th Student Research Symposium (SRS) on High Performance Computing, Data, and Analytics (HPC) aimed at stimulating and fostering student research, and providing an international forum to highlight student research accomplishments. The symposium will also provide exposure to students in the best practices in HPC in academia and industry.
The symposium will feature student posters and provide students with other enriching experiences, such as workshops, industry exhibits, and demos. The Conference Reception and multiple Student Symposium Poster Exhibit sessions will provide an opportunity for students to interact with HPC researchers and practitioners (and recruiters) from academia and industry.
Awards for Best Poster, sponsored by the IEEE Computer Society – Technical Committee on Parallel Processing, will be presented at the symposium. An online book containing the resumes of the students participating in the symposium will be compiled and made available to the sponsors of the HiPC 2018 conference.

Papers are solicited in all areas of high-performance computing, data, and analytics. Submission Deadline: 16 September 2018.

CONFERENCE WORKSHOPS
Complementing the main technical program, HiPC workshops serve to broaden the technical scope of the conference in emerging areas of high performance computing, communication, data and analytics and their applications.
Below is the listing of the workshops to be held on the first day of the conference, December 17.

The papers accepted for presentation in HiPC 2018 workshops will be included in the "workshops volume" of the proceedings of the conference, which will be distributed online in two volumes with a separate ISBN for the workshops (HiPCW 2018). Post conference, papers presented at the conference and eligible for inclusion will be submitted to the IEEE Xplore Digital Library.
