This is an interesting read. I don't quite agree though, specifically because this war is being waged against Amazon, a company that has a strong interest in fighting book piracy and possesses both the technological and business savvy to figure out a solution that is both flexible enough and priced satisfactorily for consumers. You can say all you want about the publishers — my sense is that they're about as old-fashioned as the music and movie executives are, but smarter about the whole thing both in general and from watching the latter industries' struggles — but Amazon will find a way to make it happen.

How to troll friends and family using Google+
Step 1) Randomly divide everyone you know into two separate circles.
Step 2) Post to circle 1 that you just got an awesome new job.
Step 3) Post to circle 2 that you just contracted some disease.
Step 4) Post to your extended circles that "Tomorrow is my last day".
Step 5) Watch resulting comment battle between the two groups.

It'd be really great if Google+ let my Twitter automatically post my tweets to the Public.

Ruh-roh.
Hilariously enough, +Rod Begbie was on Google+ before the vast majority of us.

Can I indicate that one circle is a strict subset of another such that if I add someone to "Mission people," they should automatically go in "San Francisco people" as well?
