"I’m fascinated by organic neighborhoods that somehow manage to survive despite the gentrification of the city, and despite its squalor, I’m not sure there’s a better example of this than Willets Point. Run-down, polluted, forgotten, and undervaluing its land, a place like Willets Point is the antithesis of everything New York has become today. And so the bulldozers will come in, and bland apartment buildings will go up, and a new world will be created in the most inorganic way possible."
A week ago, I was out taking pictures of Citi Field… 01 …and for some reason, I found myself paying attention to the long line of car repair places across the street. 02. I've always been peripherally aware that the neighborhood has a high concentration of autobody shops along the main drags, ...

“The present assault upon capital is but the beginning. it will be but a stepping-stone to others, larger and more sweeping, till our political contests will become a war of the poor against the rich.”

—Stephen J. Field, American judge, born november 4, 1816

Ha. That’ll be the day. Stephen J. Field, appointed by Abraham Lincoln in 1863, was one of the late nineteenth-early twentieth century US Supreme Court justices who were endlessly helpful to the Robber Baron capitalists during the first Gilded Age (the one before the one we’re enjoying so much now). Income Tax? We don’t need no stinkin’ Income Tax? Unions? See the quote....

Pish, as they say, and tush. As my father used to say, the only socialism we have in this country is socialism for the rich.

Introduction

I am a consultant, speaker, and writer.

My partner Rick Feldman and I have started InCommN as a way to build a healthy community of entrepreneurs in Western New England. We are passionate networkers and try to share everything we can to help build a vibrant, collaborative, creative business and civic culture in our corner of the world.

My day job is helping businesses, non-profits, individuals and municipalities take advantage of the tremendous opportunities the Internet and Digital Media offer. Contact me to get some help getting started if you need it, or want to improve your digital presence.

In 2008, I retired as a principal of Lieberman's Gallery, LLP, a technology leader in the Art Print and Poster industry.

When I'm not out consulting, networking, or learning about businesses and organizations who are doing amazing new things, I hang my hat in a converted barn on three and one half acres of old dairy farm.

I had a pretty poor Caesar Salad one visit, with dry chicken and commercial dressing. But the next time I was there, I had a really good chicken pot pie, with a nice flaky crust, lots of chicken and vegetables, and a tasty gravy. My friend had what looked some very nice fish and chips.

We love Smoky Bro's! Great, meaty ribs, succulent pulled pork, tasty chopped bbq chicken, dense, smoky brisket are all on the menu here. Cole slaw, potato salad, mac n cheese, cornbread, are some of the sides available. Make sure you don't miss the meaty baked beans when you come. Sunshine and Brolin are always friendly and welcoming. Now that Holy Smokes is gone from Turners Falls, Smoky Bro's is far and away the best BBQ in Franklin County, and maybe in all of Western Mass.
