+Movmnt Magazine  is a proud sponsor and friend of +Dancers Responding to AIDS' Fire Island Dance Festival. Get your tickets now for the most open air magical show of the summer. Humorist & actor Mo Rocca will host Fire Island Dance Festival 18, the hottest charity event to land on the shores of the Great South Bay.
Fire Island Dance Festival 18 is set to build on last year's record-breaking festival by featuring new seating closer to the stage and an eclectic mix of famed and fast-rising dancers performing on a stunning waterfront stage. It will showcase a pièce d'occasion by Tony Award-winning choreographer and director Rob Ashford. Ashford's latest work can be seen in the current Broadway hits Evita and How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. The festival also will include performances by Ballet Hispanico, David Grenke Performance Projects, presenting, for the first time, an all-male version of "Vespers," a compelling duet set to the music of Tom Waits. Get ready to get hot feet with Broadway Underground's tap sensation Jared Grimes. MOMIX returns to the island with an encore performance of the mesmerizing "Aqua Flora." Project Moves Dance Company (recently featured on Dancing with the Stars will be sharing their youthful take on respect and acceptance. Also performing is Yosvani Ramos, a charismatic dancer from Cuba and principal at The Australian Ballet,Rennie Harris Puremovement, one of the few authentic hip-hop companies in America, Sidra Bell Dance New York, performing an unconventional male duet from "ReVUE". Travis Wall, Nick Lazzarini, and Teddy Forance are choreographic collaborators on this beautiful dance performance, which debuted Travis Wall's new dance company, Shaping Sound, on last week's Dancing With the Stars results show. I interpreted this piece as the forgiveness of Polina and Deandre. For those of you who don't know, Deandre [oops Freudian slip, meant to say Polina] was a budding ballerina who was hit by a drunk driver named Deandre. Sadly, she eventually died. Sad for both.

I spy the reigning 'So You Think You Can Dance' champion, Melanie Moore, in this ensemble of gorgeous dancers. See if you recognize her. Enjoy:
