It's impossible for me know the anguish that the families and friends of victims of today's evil acts of terror are feeling right now. I imagine that the full weight has not yet hit them yet, and their lives have changed forever. We all pray that, in time, they will find solace.

The fundamental problems we face as a human race do not stem from the laws of our governments, which will always be imperfect as they are implemented by imperfect people. Even if there were a law for each societal ill, the enforcement of those laws would be impossibly expensive to implement.

The fundamental issues we face stem from a growing embrace of Moral Relativism, where all truth is relative, and there is no good or evil. Where peoples values shift with every changing wind of doctrine. It is no wonder that the rising generation is so confused.

This embrace of moral relativism has been enabled chiefly by the breakdown of the family and the secularization of society.

Love much. Search truth. Shun evil. Teach righteousness (in word and deed). Serve others. #PrayForNewton

Zack, go ahead and look up how to perform a Denial of Service Attack, and I bet you find it is similar to how you framed your comment/multiple questions :p

To your first question ... suggest a principle that resolves all moral dillemas.

I think the beauty of life is our ability to choose for ourselves. The only way we progress is by choosing between right and wrong and choosing the right. But what is right and what is wrong? Remember Alma, if you want to know if the seed is good, you plant it and nourish it, and see if it doesn't eventually bare good fruit.

We can see for ourselves what are the fruits of generally obeying traffic laws and those that have reckless disregard for them. We can see for ourselves what are the fruits of taking care of our bodies and on the other end being sedentary and taking in all sorts of junk. We can see for ourselves governments and societies that try to preserve individual liberties which prosper and those governments and societies that ignore personal liberties and oppress women and do not prosper.

When is it ok to kill lie or steal for a higher purpose? I want to know what you think here. I would protect my family if it came down to it.

Do you you need to have privileged access to a knowledge of gods will? How does one know the practical application of quantum physics, by diligent study, pondering, and practing the application of all of the principles that govern it.

We believe that we can learn God's will through dilligent study, prayer and practice line upon line, precept upon precept, here a little and there a little.

When is it ok for a stoning?
I'll refer you to the Word of Wisdom

When is it ok to lie to save a life?
In most circumstances, would you lie to keep a villian from murdering your son? I would.

When is it ok to have a flood and wipeout the wicked?
I don't know.

When is it ok to sacrifice the firstborn to save the rest?
I don't know.

Usually it is frightening to an outside group when another group decides god's judgements and punishments are necessary for the good of society.
Agreed

Depending on which side of the fence you are on, you decide whether the actions of judgement are moral or not.
Agreed.

I have yet to be convinced any man has shown he knows the mind, will or rationale of GOD.
You obviously have not been convinced of that.

Agree with +Brandon Bullock that the most recent CM9 release on the HP touchpad is way nice. Love it.

It seems that whatever side shouts "BullS**t" louder is the winner--nary a shroud of evidence to backup your claim is required. I've never heard anyone defend Stalin, let alone say that Stalin never committed one crime against humanity. Only an intellectual could be this stupid. Also, a bonus, said intellectual says the U.S. a terrible standard of living compared to communist nations?

Awesome! I've been waiting for the HP TouchPad CyanogenMod release to get a little more stable before putting it on my wife's TouchPad. Glad to know that things seem to be working okay, though. My favorite part from the Alpha 1 release notes: "Its half a miracle it [hardware accelerated video decoding] works at all on our current kernel." :-)
