Historic building in Golden Gate Park with ocean views, serving housemade beer and American fare.- Google
"Food was uniformly too cold, sadly, but the sea bass was perfectly cooked."
"Waiter forgot to bring salt and pepper when asked."

This is not a Micheline Three star but I'm giving it the highest rating for good reason. It worked for us when we wanted it to, the food was good and the server, Ivonne, was incredibly good. She managed to shift us to a table with a great ocean view, she made everything right. Drinks, food, dessert, etc. Not obsequious, just exceptional. Sometimes the best restaurant in the world is the one that fits what you want when you want it. We skipped out on the Cliff House (canceled on site) because despite the reservation, was not ready for us and it wasn't all that appealing at the moment. Not a complaint, but the chalet worked for us. Simple brunch, eggs, toast, potatoes, eggs florentine, bacon, etc. We had a good brunch at the Chalet. not the most difficult in the world, but it was done right. In a case like this, in a crowded room (NFL Playoffs), service made the difference.

Oysters were not clean, all of them had shell chips in them. Tacos were insipid. Portions for guacamole and salsa appetizer were ridiculously small surrounded by a mountain for tortilla chips. Seafood platter was overlooked and in a greasy broth. Service was terrible. What a disaster! San Fran has so many good restaurants. Do not waste your time here!

God awful experience. The waiter was super nice, until we told him we didn't want drinks(both my fiancé and I are underage). It was all downhill from there. He was very rude to us, and literally threw our straws on the table. When I asked for my meat to be medium rare, he brought it back raw. Literally bleeding. Totally disgusting, and ridiculously over priced ($60+ for dinner for two). The only good thing I can say is it does have a great view of the pacific.

Exceptional service, amazing view, and solid food. A bit pricy but worth the splurge for a great experience

Place gets busy during brunch. Food was good, but service was a little lacking. You're essentially paying for the beautiful oceanside views.

Basic food not much of a menu and pricey. Good service, and the view it's nice. We had a party of 6 and sat by the window. Good place to meet and it's a tourist spot.
