The Director of the FBI can stand there and tell us we should trust him, based on the FBI's reputation? If he were smiling, I'd suspect he was polishing his standup routine. But he wasn't smiling. So... really?
"I hope that the American people know the FBI well enough, know the nature and character of this organization, as I've said many times, 'We don't give a rip about politics.'"
Well, Director Comey, the American people remember your organization's turning over 900 files ...to Hillary Clinton when she was just First Lady. She has been using those files ever since, to keep friends and foes in line. Yes, we remember.
We remember your organization's raid at Ruby Ridge, the shooting a young teen in the back and Lon Horiuchi's shooting his mother in the face, and the siege, all to support a frameup of Randy Weaver. Yes, we remember.
We remember Waco, how your negotiators said they would wait as long as it would take, how your organization simultaneously engineered the assault, and how your organization misled both the victims and the American public; and how you destroyed and mishandled evidence, and how you covered up the mass murder of more than seventy men, women, and children, none of whom had even been accused of a crime. Yes, we remember.
We remember James Kallstrom's discounting over a hundred eyewitnesses and radar data, claiming TWA Flight 800 was dripping light, rather than being the target of what they all saw as a missile. Yes, we remember.
We remember how your organization "handled" Chinagate, illegal voter registrations, and dozens of other crimes perpetrated by the Clintons. Yes, we remember.
And you wonder why we don't trust the FBI? Let the screams of the dying children at Waco enlighten you.
