What a cutie. He looks just like a brown rabbit I had when I was a child.

NEW AT THE ZOO: Can you identify this new face at the Zoo (hint: it is a "miniature" animal)? Two of these guys recently arrived, and in a few weeks will be on exhibit in the yard next to the train ride.

BABY NEWS: Say hello to the Maryland Zoo's newest addition! This baby Coquerel's sifaka is the 4th of this endangered type of lemur to be born at the Zoo since April 2011. The baby is healthy and now on exhibit hanging on to the mother's belly. http://www.marylandzoo.org/sifakababy

Many people think that okapi stripes resemble zebra stripes, but did you know okapi are more closely related to giraffes than zebras. #animalfacts

We've lost an amazing member of our Zoo family.  Dolly, our oldest African elephant was euthanized this weekend in light of her worsening health and quality of life.  She was a beloved part of The Maryland Zoo for more than 30 years.  After arriving in 1982, she quickly became a favorite of many guests and staff.  To say our elephant team is grief stricken would be an understatement.  While we are saddened by her loss we know she impacted so many Baltimoreans over her 3 decades here.  Read more about Dolly and take a moment to leave your thoughts and memories of this amazing elephant.  www.marylandzoo.org/elephant news
