Why isn't anybody talking about the REAL power source here. The energy used to heat the Thorium core? Descriptions of the system seem to suggest that the thorium is super heated with a laser and the thorium heats water to drive steam generators. Thorium doesn't seem to be the initial energy source for the drive train. It sounds like it's a power storage system. Anybody want to expand on this? LPS's website doesn't talk about the laser very much.
There are now over one billion cars traveling roads around the world directly and indirectly costing trillions of dollars in material resources, time and noxious emissions. Imagine all these cars running cleanly for 100 years on just 8 grams of fuel each. Laser Power Systems (LPS) from Connecticut, USA, is developing a new method of […]

Actually, yeah this sounds more like a "crazy scam" than a conventional thorium reactor. I find this counterargument compelling. http://granades.com/2011/09/16/in-which-i-use-scientific-reasoning-to-doubt-the-thorium-powered-car/

I'm sure Superior Plumbing and Loud Security are very excited about the level of building this project would require. They've been misled about the "new property tax" increase facts. Cobb residents are currently paying three property-tax surcharges that were to expire in 2017 and 2018. This revenue will shift to the ballpark, but now it won't expire. It will continue for another 30 years.

I encourage anyone that's concerned about the negative impact of publicly funded stadiums to follow this analysis blog on the topic. They're watching The Braves move closely: http://www.fieldofschemes.com/2013/11/15/6240/cobb-countys-existing-property-taxes-for-braves-stadium-are-actually-a-tax-hike/
