How We Caused Attention Poverty

I love economics. I have, at different times in my career, even chosen to brand myself as a geekonomist. I'm not an economist in the traditional sense, but I believe highly in the relationships behind actions, more specifically, in behavioral economics. Every action you take is an economic transaction: Money exchanged for food, time exchanged for pleasure, one option exchanged for another preference. What drives those decisions has always fascinated me. None have fascinated me more so, however, than attention economics. Briefly, attention economics states that information has expanded to the point that the scare commodity now is attention. The Fireplace in the Tower of Terror
Just a few days ago, I got into this place... I've always wanted to get "behind the velvet rope" and take proper photos of this area, and it finally happened!

This lobby was richly decorated to look like an old, classic Hollywood hotel that has been left alone to slowly deteriorate. Although this angle in particular does not show the decay, future ones will... Also, a future one will include the full story of how I got behind the velvet rope -- you won't believe it!
