- KOCO 5 NewsReporter/Anchor
Patti Moon joined KOCO 5 as a reporter and anchor in February 2012. Previously, she worked in Colorado Springs as weekend morning anchor and reporter at KRDO.
Patti covered the devastating Waldo Canyon Wildfire as well as the Aurora theater shooting. During that wildfire, she was evacuated from her home and experienced firsthand how important local news is to a community during a time of crisis.
Before her time with KRDO, Patti reported for the Medill News Service in Washington D.C. with a focus on education issues. The job also gave her a chance to work in Chicago as a health reporter. She began her broadcast career in Quincy, IL at WGEM.
Patti is a proud graduate of Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism. She completed her bachelor's and master's degrees in August of 2008, majoring in journalism with a minor in political science. During that time, she was honored as one of UWire's Top 100 College Journalists and anchored a national news show for OSTN.
Outside of the news world, Patti loves music. She has played the piano and flute and loves to sing. She also has a love for traveling and foreign languages. She has explored Europe, South America and Asia. She speaks Korean and a little French.
Patti loves meeting new people and hearing your stories. If you would like to share a story idea with her, please e-mail her at email@example.com or find her on Facebook (Patti Moon) and Twitter (@kocopattimoon).
