Dr. Charles "Pat" Davis, MD, PhD is a medical author for the WebMD network, which includes MedicineNet, eMedicineHealthRxList and WebMD.

Dr. Davis is a board certified Emergency Medicine doctor who currently practices as a consultant and as an Emergency Medicine staff member for hospitals in San Antonio. He has an undergraduate degree in Biology from St. Edward’s Univ. in Austin, Texas, a PhD in Microbiology (Univ. Texas at Austin), and a MD (Univ. Texas Medical Branch, Galveston). He completed his internship and residency training in Internal Medicine at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB). He is a Clinical Professor (retired) in the Division of Emergency Medicine, UT Health Science Center at San Antonio (UTHSCSA), and has been the Chief of Emergency Medicine at UT Medical Branch and at UTHSCSA.

Dr. Davis has served as an editor and chapter author for several medical textbooks. He has been the supervising professor for several successful PhD candidates in Microbiology, established a Master's degree for physicians at UTMB and was the supervising professor for its first graduate. He is a consultant in Microbiology and has over 250 publications.
