Serving Two Masters
One of my favorite quotes is from John Green. He said: Don’t make stuff because you want to make money — it will never make you enough money. And don’t make stuff because you want to get famous — because you will never feel famous enough. Make gifts for peo...

My Work in Progress--Title Change
I haven't made much progress since my last post. However, I did decide to change the title of the book. The original title was Rootless . It didn't have the right sound, perhaps because it sounds a little like "ruthless."  After pondering a bit, I changed t...

Review and Historical Perspective on the Woman's Role
In my newsletters and

shade, we’ve covered the following: ·          “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled
about many things, but one thing is necessary. Mary h...
Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” ~Genesis 1:26. The “mankind” in these verses included ...

Laundry—I'm sure someone out there enjoys doing it, and if it's you, I have the number of a good psychiatrist. J Joking aside, keeping up with laundry seems an almost impossible task. It's something that has to be done and on a regular basis. And for those who say all jobs can be done as to God, ...

The Year(s) and Words
This past year, 2016, has been a very difficult year. With each new difficulty, the seed of bitterness has grown until I've reached the point of morphing into the old man who yells at the kids, "Get off my lawn."  Only it's not kids but others in my life. W...

Good point. Either way, we are not to twist scripture to fit our own misconceptions, albeit from our society's norms, or from our own upbringing and experience. It's difficult to filter out all our preconceptions and misconceptions but not impossible. Thanks for pointing this out.

Story
Introduction

I was raised an Army brat and lived many places,  settling in south Alabama thirty years ago. I taught middle school science for nineteen years, and I'm now retired at the age of 58.

Retirement has enabled me to pursue my dream of becoming a writer.

My husband is a poultry farmer. We have two grown sons, a wonderful daughter-in-law, and a blessing of grandkids.

I like to think of myself as eclectic. But, then again, I'm probably just ADD with a little OCD thrown in for good measure!
