This morning, four young cancer patients from the Carilion Children’s Hospital in Roanoke, Virginia flew out of Roanoke Regional Airport to join dozens of other cancer patients from across North America to attend the Annual Sunshine Kids “Haunted Halloween Adventure" October 18th -23rd in New Orleans, LA. Just a few of the exciting events the kids will participate in during the week are touring the French Quarter, seeing the wild life on the swamp tour and visiting haunted houses throughout the city. They will also eat at some of the best restaurants the city has to offer.

This morning, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Premier, REALTORS gathered at the Roanoke Blacksburg Regional Airport to give these brave kids a sendoff for a great adventure. Also attending, in support of the children, was Loan Officer Barry Duffey of +Movement Mortgage. “Lagniappes” (gift bags) for the kids, parents and their medical representative, along with a$2000 donation to the Sunshine Kids Foundation by Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Premier, REALTORS and its agents.

Did you know that REALTORS and the real estate market have a huge impact on the local economy? Every time a home is sold, the surrounding economy feels a boost. Different industries and businesses benefit at each stage of the process of moving into a home. Virginia experiences an average $91,000 boost to the local economy for each home sold! Have you considered the cost of waiting to buy? Monthly mortgage payments will increase as rates and home prices increase. CoreLogic predicts a 5.3% appreciation in home prices in the next 12 months. Freddie Mac predicts an increase of a full percentage point in interest rates. Take a look at the chart for an example. If you'd like a chart for a different price range, contact us and we'll gladly get you one. If you're ready to start your home search, our agents are the very best at what they do! #roanoke #realestate
