Went on a Sunday and had a lovely time. We were seated quickly and the guy on the door was very pleasant. The waiting staff were all attentive and our waiter was friendly and offered his own recommendations on the menu. The food was incredible. Perfectly cooked and seasoned, the flavours were all just right for the dishes, nothing too overwhelming and nothing too subtle. As a group of 4 we all had something different and no-one was disappointed. The decor was beautiful, and the whole place was very relaxing, you almost had no idea that Camden high-street was just outside. Great time, great food and great place.

Went to a private event held at Gilgamesh and the organisation and service looked perfect. Unfortunately I didn't make it time to have the food they were offering but as a place to host an event such as a birthday party it really does a fantastic job!

Lush asian-ish food in a beautiful restaurant, right at the entrance to Camden Market.

I can completely agree. Its one of the most expensive looking places to duplicate that i have ever seen, but its pretty much all show and no go. Also the bathroom is crazy

I found my experience to be very confusing. Not only were we being served by 6 different waiters, but the pan Asian food, middle Eastern decor along with the loud house music left me feeling lost. Our table was in the middle of the restaurant which was very busy and the space was tight so we had a constant flow of people walking alongside our table on either side. The food was good if you ignore the painful price tag attached. If blind folded im uncertain if it would beat my local Asian restaurant. The rice was under cooked but the waiter did not acknowledge my comment on this. Overall, a disappointing experience if you want to eat somewhere that has a bit of soul, identity or character. Good if you want to splash out and have an eccentric typically expensive London night followed by a night of cocktails and clubbing.

Amazing Décor but the food is serious let down. You enter up the escalator into a sea of carved wooded furniture and an absolute fortune spent on the visual experience. Unfortunately no one bothered to make sure the food is good. A great looking menu with a wide variety of the orient but the chefs need a lesson in culinary skills, namely flavour balancing. The entire philosophy of East Asian cooking in balance of textures and tastes; sweet, salty, sour etc. Apparently Gilgamesh decided to ignore this and just go for one at a time. The 'crispy' chicken wings were particularly appalling. They were so sweet it might as-well been caramel mixed with 5 spice and for the 'crispy' I believe they may have their own definition of this... If I can give them a saving grace it is that of the cocktails. Not bad. I definitely would not recommend eating here but may be worth grabbing a cocktail and taking in the ambiance if you like the photos!

Sadly Gilgamesh is not what it once was. I took a friend for birthday drinks, and was very disappointed, especially with the quality of service. We were there for approximately an hour and a half, and were completely ignored by the waiting staff. To order anything, I had to go to the bar. The only interaction we had with passing staff was the sudden removal of the happy hour cocktail menu a good ten minutes before happy hour was over. The waitress did not ask us if we wished to order. When our drinks came, my friend was quite happy with his, but mine was a little rough and I could not detect many of the ingredients it was supposed to have in it. The decor is still nice, but not enough to make up for the lack of service. When seated I noticed that many of the air vents overhead were dirty. The ladies toilets were in an unpleasant state; two were blocked and at least four others had no paper in them. They were plastered with crude laminated signs advising patrons to flush. In sum, when I pay £15 for a single drink, I expect it to be good, I expect staff to be polite and attentive, and I expect the facilities to be clean. In addition we were charged £4.75 for a bottle of water, and a further charge, possibly for 'service' - of which we received none - was added to our bill. We decided not to eat there, and I will not be returning. There are cocktail bars in Leicester which are far superior.

Horrible thuggish door staff - didn't let me in, then the booked party arrived (who I was meeting there) and they suddenly 'changed' their mind. Gave hassle to another guest as well. Wont set foot in that place again. Rubbish place
