This year people searched for everything under the sun and beyond,  from distant comets to tiny burritos. And they asked Google important questions like, “where do we come from?” and “should I get married?”

That’s why today we’re launching our annual #YearinSearch , a look back at the searches, questions and moments that defined 2014.

Watch the film, explore the site and relive the year along the way. www.google.com/2014

I've been really enjoying the new Trending on YouTube feature in Google Trends. This the first time Google Trends has included data from products beyond Search -- and it's an exciting milestone for the team.

The new YouTube lists in Google Trends are the most comprehensive and dynamic yet.  Check it out!
In fashion they say, one day you’re in... the next day you’re out. The same goes for the Internet–except replace couture with viral videos and runways with hashtags like #RuinA90sBand . With the constant flux, it’s not easy to stay on top of what’s got the Internet watercooler buzzing, but that’s about to change. Starting today, you can try out a new way to see hundreds of the latest trending videos on YouTube. Visit Google Trends (google.com/trends) and tap "Trending on YouTube" to discover a list of up to 200 trending videos. For now this feature is available in the US, but we plan to expand soon.

New feature in Google Trends enables you to subscribe to get email updates about searches for any topic. I've been testing this out for a few weeks now and really enjoying it. I particularly have been enjoying this as a way to stay up-to-date with the mega-important news in another country. For example, my mother and stepfather live in Canada so I subscribed to get the "Hottest" Canadian Hot Searches in my inbox. It's been really nice to know about just a couple tidbits of the top trending Canadian happenings ... Congrats to the team on the new feature!
