It is soooo frustrating.
This guy continuously speaks my mind...
Dr. Dawkins seriously believes half of Americans think the universe is 6000 years old? I haven't even heard that Mitt Romney thinks it.

Hyperbolize much, Richard? Where are your facts? Geez, I'm an atheist and this guy pisses me off somethimes.
I think they spelled mormons wrong. Rather morons perhaps is more correct.
Holy Guacamole. Apparently (nearly) half of all Americans do believe the earth is >10,000 years old.

According to the Gallup folks, " Forty-six percent of Americans believe in the creationist view that God created humans in their present form at one time within the last 10,000 years."

However, that's still not a canonical LDS view.
Dawkins is not wrong, hes using logical reasoning.

If a person doesn't believe in evolution, that means they believe organisms do not change over time.  Which means they most likely believe in creationism.  in the US, 80% of the population are christian, which means the 60% that don't subscribe to evolution probably believe the genesis creation story.

If you believe in the genesis creation story, and that everything magicked into existence because of the old testament god, that means you believe the world is only 6,000 years old.

He doesn't need polls.  Its obvious.  if 60% of the US population is retarded enough to think evolution is wrong, then they are retarded enough to believe the world is only 6,000 years old.  These stupid beliefs are interconnected.
The Gallup poll I cited earlier suggests it's slightly less than half (46%) of Americans that believe in a God-created earth that's <10,000 years old. I'm not aware of Mr. Romney's views on evolution, but young-earth Creationism is not a doctrine of the Mormon church.
But the belief that god is some human hanging out on a planet far away from us is?  How is that less crazy?
Love me some Richard Dawkins.
Just imagine what America could do if the bronze age half of us would get with the program!
