Thats whats up in Portland! Represent!
We are Portland, not PERFland.

This is the takeaway from today's press release:

"This may be an opportunity for us to collectively take a pause and reassess the way the police and protestors have been approaching this situation, to find a uniquely Portland solution. Today, we tried something new. Our Incident Commander Mike Leloff met with protestors before a march and asked if they wanted a police escort. When they told him no, he asked that they self-police their event and obey the law; police would only respond if there were complaints. The march participants agreed, and the event proceeded without any problems, or a police presence."

"This is a model of cooperation that we could build upon for future events, and I want to thank today's marchers for making this possible."

I know most of you probably know and watch Ted Talks, but for those that do not, here is one that I recently watched. To me, the most striking comment was this: ‎"If Americans want to live the 'American Dream', they should go to Denmark"

This stuff is insane. Who said man can't fly?
Ever dreamt you could fly? Loic Jean-Albert and his buddies are doing it!

Well, it is nice to see that I am not alone in my analysis of the S&P ratings downgrade.

This is quite interesting. Basically, S&P blames political jousting on top of a growing debt burden for the drop in rating. Would this be what the "Tea-Party" meant by not going to Washington to do business as usual? They've been a major part of the furthering of the divide between parties and break-down of the parties ability to compromise. It seemed on more than one occasion Boehner and many Republicans were ready to make a deal.
