Happy Friday everyone! We are in the final few days of the KY General Assembly and a couple of great bills for kids passed yesterday. Take a minute to check out the wins for kids this year and what we are still working on as session wraps up.

We are excited to join the Annie E. Casey Foundation in the release of a new KIDS COUNT Data Snapshot today on early reading proficiency. Children who read proficiently by the end of third grade are more likely to graduate from high school and to be economically successful in adulthood. http://bit.ly/19QMV46

#Poverty is one of the most important issues facing #children today. Some even compare it to the polio epidemic of the 1950s. While there isn't a vaccine for poverty, there are ways to address this important issue.
