గాయత్రి వంటింటికి విచ్చేసిన ప్రేక్షకులందరికి ఉగాది శుభాకాంక్షలు.

Telugu :Ugadi (ఉగాది) Kannada: yugādi (ಯುಗಾದಿ),  Konkani/Marathi: Gudi Paadva (गुढी पाडवा) is the New Year's Day in Deccan Region. Marwari celebrate the same day as their new year day Thapna. Sindhis too as Cheti Chand.Manipuris also celebrate their New Year (Sajibu nongma panba).

I greet all my viewers on this occasion.

This festival falls on a different day every year in Gregorian calendar because the Indian Saka Calendar adopted is lunar based. The Saka Calendar begins with the month of Chaitra (March–April) and Ugadi marks the first day of the new year.

As per Telugu tradition we prepare a recipe Ugaadi Pachhadi on this day. This recipe doesn't involve any cooking on the fire. It is just a mixture of the six different tastes (షట్ రుచులు) taken from nature. The fresh arrivals in the market are used to prepare this chutney which we consume early in the morning.
