Meet Jaylise, one of our Wigs 4 Kids recipients! Jaylise has alopecia and received her new wig just in time to attend a daddy-daughter dance with her grandfather since her dad is serving in the military. She was thrilled with the style of her wig and this is the difference our program makes in the lives of the children we serve!

London Calling Salon is a registered salon with Wigs 4 Kids and they cut hair donations throughout the year to help us create wigs for Michigan children in need. Norman the owner and his designers generously collected 356 ponytails which were delivered to Wigs 4 Kids; enough to make 30 wigs! We are grateful to each donor who grew their hair so we can continue our mission. Watch the story of how our Finance Assistant Emina processes the hair and acknowledges our donors here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N_CZKKAfiIA&t=18s

Our visit to Paul Mitchell the School Grand Rapids was amazing! We met many wonderful future professionals who were inspired by Wigs 4 Kids and want to get more involved with our program. This is a great example of the giving nature of our beauty industry and how it takes all of us to make a difference for the children.

A very special thanks to Lauren who brought her daughter London and niece Nevaeh to volunteer at Wigs 4 Kids by making greeting cards. 65% of the children we serve have cancer and many of them are currently in the hospital or home-bound. The beautiful cards will brighten their day and we appreciate their support of our kids!

Wigs 4 Kids respects the work of Gilda's Club which we were fortunate to tour during our trip to Grand Rapids. We learned more about the wonderful programs they have in place for individuals facing cancer. It was a pleasure to meet their Executive Director Wendy and Program Director Jan who are helping make a difference every day.

This afternoon, Wigs 4 Kids Founder & CEO Maggie Varney will be touring Gilda's Club in Grand Rapids and meeting with their team to see how we can partner and further be of service to the children & families of Michigan. We thank them for the work they do since we need more people offering these services to our communities.

A special thanks to little Harper from Minnesota who is 5 years old and donated her beautiful blonde hair to Wigs 4 Kids! Harper's mom found Wigs 4 Kids on Pinterest after researching places that accept hair donations and we're grateful she chose us as her charity of choice. This is the impact social media can have for nonprofits: putting us in contact with families in need and individuals willing to support them! We were fortunate to have over 12,000 fans last year who believe in our mission.

Wigs 4 Kids traveled across the state and will be visiting Paul Mitchell the School Grand Rapids to present information about our program tomorrow. Paul Mitchell supports Wigs 4 Kids by sending future professionals to our cut-a-thons and raising $ through their FUNraising campaign. Funds help us offer scholarships so future professionals can take our Cuts 4 a Cause hair restoration certification classes and learn how to provide wigs to children in need. We're grateful to have their ongoing support of Wigs 4 Kids!
