I've been shortlisted for an Architizer A+ Award in the photo and video category, which I'm really chuffed about! Apparently I'm currently in second place in the people's choice section, so if you could click the link and vote for me, it's be much appreciated!

I don't think I need to see another photo of a zombie again for a year or so (Brighton folk will know why), so in keeping with this time of year check out Laura Pannack's excellent 'Halloween' project on her website (under the 'Projects' tab)...

Last summer I was commissioned by the RIBA Architecture students who designed (and built) a temporary bandstand on London's Southbank to photograph and video their work. Lovely stuff. Sunny day.

Documentary photography Peter Dench has a massive archive of images on his website. Well worth spending an hour or so browsing through them. He'll also be coming to Brighton on November 1st to give a talk about his work...

Seems like only yesterday since the last one, but on Tuesday, Murray Ballard will be doing a talk for us on photographic practice, including his excellent documentation of the cryogenics movement. Free entry, Tuesday 4th October, The Old Market, Brighton & Hove. See you down there!

I've just had about 40 or 50 people add me on this. Not really sure why so many all of a sudden, but welcome folks! You can be the catalyst for me actually using Google+. Tomorrow I vow to make a decent and interesting post here, for your enjoyment...

Today, I'm having a look at the work of Jason Larkin, who will be on the panel for at next Wednesday event. Jason's excellent work has largely been based in the Middle East and Africa and his 'Cairo Divided' and 'Gaza Laid Bare' projects are particularly worth a look. http://www.jasonlarkin.co.uk/

Ahead of next Thursday's London to Brighton event, I'm highlighting the work of the photographers involved. Today, Maja Daniels, who has some outstanding work on her website. The "Into Oblivion" series, and the heart-wrenching accompanying audiovisual presentation is a particular highlight. http://majadaniels.com/

Over the next couple of weeks I'll be highlighting the work of the speakers who are taking part in the London to Brighton photography panel on 21st Sept at The Old Market in Brighton & Hove. First up, +Ben Roberts, who I'm really excited is on for being involved. Check out his project "Higher Lands" in particular. Top work. Nice bloke.
