I came out of the lodge in Milford Sound just before 6AM to see this. The pink misty clouds were forming, unfolding, and rebuilding across and through the fjords. Milford Sound is about a four hour drive from Queenstown, and it's just about one of the prettiest drives in the world. Once you get down there, you should really spend the night at this lodge so you get at least one sunset and one sunrise... Right after I saw this, we piled into the ute to visit the fjord.
Every day for 10 days I'll put up a new full-rez photo from the last 10 days, just here to G+ as a thanks to all of you!
A shot I took from the Hindu temple above the cliffs of Uluwatu, on the Southwest coast of Bali.
This is one of those don't do this if you value your life shots, as to get this view requires real nerve, as you are hanging precariously onto the edge of a rocky outcrop, way above crashing waves and the jagged rocks below. Forgetting that its a great place to be as the waves roll into the limestone cliffs thunderously cracking in the afternoon light, a shot I will remember.
