The Pantheon of Rome, the art deco DanaPark Coffee House in Budapest, the Zócalo of Mexico City, and the city of Hasankejf, deep in Southeast Anatolia, Turkey - destined for aquatic obsolescence in the rising waters of the Tigris - are some of my favorite places. But D.C., with its front porches like Southern comfort, feels like home. I love its various scales and wide open spaces. So far I have lived in the neighborhoods of Capitol Hill and Petworth. I try to take all of my D.C. visitors to the Old Post Office Tower.
