Very much a hidden gem. Quiet and tranquil neighbourhood and very pleasant staff. Room and bathroom to a high standard too as it should be for the price. Two critical comments easily addressed, coffee was barely that.....with Hansa Coffee easily available in Sri Lanka there's no need to be serving substandard coffee anymore. I would also ensure real fresh juices rather that reconstituted cordials. Oh and the TV almost impossible to understand so left that to one side. Might be better to subscribe to Dialog TV, tried and tested. I hope to return.

I never got as far as the spa treatment.....having quoted a figure by phone this was magically doubled when I arrived. Ummm.....it didn't look exactly genuine either.

Great stay, great food and a welcoming family. Shan has all the contacts which made my stay enjoyable. A genuine Sri Lankan homestay experience. Thanks Shan

What a great new discovery. 30 mins from the airport and 20 mins from the beach. Not in the centre of Negombo but then so much quieter. Very economic, clean and comfortable with the perfect hosts. Sadly I wasn't in enough to be able to taste Chaminda's curry, but that pleasure is saved up for next time. Oh and transport to and from Christopher's Homestay is on hand in the form of Chaminda's tuktuk. Just twenty minutes walk away is a great ayuverda spa. What more could you need? A great place to begin or end your tour.

Surprised to read these other reviews. Just hearing a shocking story from my partially sighted aunt who spent 5 hours in A&E before being admitted for 7 days in hospital. Despite being in agony she was given no water to take her paracetamol and just told she was causing trouble. No one to read menus and little nursing care....she said the stock phrase was 'we'll be with you in a minute love ', but then not seen again. Not a hospital she'd recommend...but who has the choice?

Excellent treatment in a calm tranquil environment. Great guys who clearly have commendable skills to take you to heaven....and then leave you there a while. Not easy to find, tucked down a passage but definitely worth discovering.
