Inexpensive and with a simple charm. Oh and surprisingly quiet given its right next to the A1 main road to Kandy. Room was very clean and spacious and a great place to relax after the heavy dangerous drive. Pity the TV is like watching a snow storm.

Just discovered this hidden gem.... the Village Volunteer's Café... on the road from Talpe to Habaraduwa. Not only is the food splendidly cooked and served by local trained youth, the profits help fund the Children's Hope Foundation, assisting differently abled and children in need. More people must find out about this so it can grow and prosper.....and the mango juices are to die for.

Now rebranded The Heritage, , Weligama and excellent venue. The novel feature of a fake torrential downpour cascading over the dining room roof does make an average conversation over a meal a challenge.

So frustrating... no obvious system.... no information... just sit... wait... and hope you don't have to come back tomorrow. Why can't visa extensions be online like the superb E-Visa and all these staff can do something useful like watch a Sri Lanka telly drama.
