She created and lead a movement along with Mrs. Evelyn Rasco – mother of The Scott Sisters. That movement became a viral, global movement via social networking and field organizing by utilizing creative planning with online and off line strategies.
holds a Master of Jurisprudence from Loyola University Chicago School
of Law where she supported herself by working as a consultant for
RainbowPUSH Coalition- it was at PUSH that Lockhart initially championed the cause of The Scott Sisters. Upon graduation from Loyola University Chicago School of Law, and leaving PUSH, Lockhart continued and successfully obtained freedom for The Scott Sisters.
As a third generation public school teacher Lockhart followed the tradition of creating "outside the box" teaching strategies for students with learning disabilities and emotional problems. Her consciousness and disapproval of the "school to prison pipeline " led to her work with juvenile delinquents.
As a Reader's Digest DeWitt Wallace Fellow – Lockhart refined strategies to integrate technology and writing.
