The cubital fossa is a triangular region on the anterior side of the elbow joint, containing the median nerve, radial nerve, and the brachial artery as they pass toward the forearm. The medial cubital vein is also in this region and is frequently the vein used for injection, taking blood, and transfusion.

Stroke volume is the amount of blood a ventricle pumps out in one contraction. Cardiac output is the volume of blood that each ventricle pumps out every minute. To calculate cardiac output volume, multiply the number of heartbeats per minute by the stroke volume.
