Netflix has announced the final six-episode season of "The Killing" will be available to binge watch beginning August 1st. The shortened season will give show creator Veena Sud a chance to wrap up all the loose ends. But will anyone be watching? #TheKilling #Netflix #AMC

While Paramount Pictures tries to come up with a concept and script for a new "Friday the 13th" movie (rumored to be a found footage movie ... yawn) to be produced once again by Platinum Dunes (which did such a great job with the 2009 reboot ... not), Emmett/Furla/Oasis Films and Crystal Lake Entertainment have inked a deal to produce a "Friday the 13th" TV series with Sean Cunningham exec producing. Unlike the 1980s TV series set in an antique store with cursed items, this one will expand on the mythology set up in the films and will feature the residents of Crystal Lake who have to deal with the return of the killer, with new secrets being revealed about the Voorhees family. If this turns out to be along the lines of "Bates Motel," it just might work. No network or air date have been announced at this time. #Fridaythe13th #F13

My review of "Salem."

On the heels of the success of ‘American Horror Story: Coven,’ cable channel WGN tries to cast their own ratings spell with the premiere of ‘Salem.’ #Salem #SalemWGNA
For a while now, vampires have been the go-to creatures on TV and in movies, from the classics Nosferatu and Dracula to the modern day versions in the Twilight saga and The Vampire Diaries. Vampires seem to be losing their (pun intended) bite, and werewolves are probably too costly a creature to build an entire TV series around (we'll see if Syfy's Canadian import Bitten gets picked up for a second season). So what better supernatural creatures t...

News that perked us up on a Monday morning: several media outlets are reporting that Rockne O'Bannon confirmed over the weekend at WonderCon that a "Farscape" movie is in the works! The story will follow the comics and focus on Aeryn and John's son who is now 19 and ready to go to space with his parents. "Farscape" series writer Justin Monjo is working on a script. No other details are available at this time. #Farscape

Checked in very late one night midway home from Florida to Maryland. Was the cheapest place available (although I should have splurged for the extra bucks at the Days Inn nearby). Never felt safe with some of the other people seen going in an out of another room a few doors down. Our room was filthy, bathroom was filthy (did not dare take a shower before leaving), a large mirror was propped up against the wall, there was an old french fry under one bed, slept totally clothed and with one eye open, was not sure if door to adjoining room was locked or not. The absolute worst hotel experience of my life.
