Hi Everyone, just watched the Global Family Reunion hangout which was in conjunction with WikiTree. Makes me wonder what we could all be doing down here to benefit from the inevitable media push that will no doubt go world wide. I will be giving a two day workshop in New Zealand that weekend, what do others have planned? #genealogy   #reunion   #GFR2015

Brick wall help, please :-) Ok, here's my question, where to search next? Grace Lillian McCABE nee POST appears in the 1936 NSW Electoral roll home duties at Kenilworth Yass with husband Colin Lionel McCABE. They had previously lived mostly in the Manly area in Sydney. He remarried in 1940 back in Sydney as a widower. He is in the Nat Archives and newspapers as being bankrupt in 1937 and gives a Manly address.

Have searched all the combos I can think of and cant seem to find Grace's death to order a cert. Have traced another Grace Lillian of Mosman and eliminated her. Have followed Grace's siblings and parents in Trove no mention of her in their death notices. Anyone able to find her other states? Did Colin become a bigamist. Have his death WW2 death in 1942 no mention of her nor any children to her. Just left all to the new wife in his will. Hope others can help find her, I am stumped. TIA

Thanks to Irish Wattle for sharing this info recently: Irish Famine Orphan Girls came to the Australian colonies during the Famine years of 1848 to 1850 from the Workhouses of all 32 Irish counties.

Search the orphans database :: http://ow.ly/hlUSZ

G'day everyone!

Carole Riley and I thought a group for Down Under research would be a valuable addition to G+ hope you all think so too.

Please post tips and hints on how and where to find things, or ask a question or share your latest find or break through. If you are keen to build this group you can help by posting AND by inviting others you know who are researching Australia and or New Zealand records.

Hi Folks

Just finished watching This Week in Google (TWiG) and +MikeElgan recommended this site:

http://sociologyplus.com/

Check out the guides under resources top right.

He mentioned an extension which add a lower third to your hangout view, which I figure those of us here experimenting with hangouts might like to include that extention.

Enjoy
