- Thanks for this Karine, the results are really interesting, but the 3D pie charts make it pretty hard to do meaningful visual comparisons (which is what I guess they're there for) - there's some research around this which I can't find immediately but I assure you it exists!Feb 21, 2012
- Show me the research, Phil! I will probably release more details later in an article.Feb 21, 2012
- It's only a minor criticism, but I do think it would help legibility.
My go-to reference is normally: http://www.contrast.ie/blog/infographics-and-data-visualisations/ since the example it gives is based on real-life: http://blogs.guardian.co.uk/technology/Jobs_08_keynote_dsc_0143x.jpg
Only the abstract is available, but that should be informative enough: http://www.hcibib.org/bs.cgi?searchtype=tocbib&query=J.BIT.22.3.185&form=none
There's also a little in "The dark side of information visualization" here http://www.stonesc.com/CLIR/index.htm and it comes up in http://www.fivesimplesteps.com/products/a-practical-guide-to-designing-with-dataFeb 22, 2012
