Our various tropical plants have been doing very well at Higher Wiscombe. We love the long seed heads on the palms on the small roundabout 😇🌴

There is a brilliant local vineyard, producing seriously good local wine and sparkling wine. Wins many awards and graces the tables of some of the best restaurants in the South West. Pebblebed wines, highly recommended :-)

All our cottages have log burners for cosy evenings. We provide all the logs for your stay, all from around the farm, along with eco firelighters and long British matches. Every burner's chimney is swept every year by the wonderful Jim Burston, of Burston and Son Chimney services

Here's Bailey, a gorgeous Chocolate Labrador that stayed in The Flint Barn this week. At thirteen, he has the most incredible energy, and really enjoyed the walks around our valley. Thanks for coming and look forward to seeing you again :-)

We recently had a Charity Curry night for our African Charity Light Up East Africa Foundation. This is charity set up by my best friend to swap Kerosene Lamps for solar lamps. There are huge health benefits, but the biggest winner is the children's education. Kids with solar lamps get to keep the lights on and do their homework, leading to higher rates of secondary education. The night raised over £1000 taking the total raised for this great charity to over £5,000. Much fun had by all. :-)

Maintenance day at Higher Wiscombe. New wet room floor completed in The Old Winery to speed up the shower draining away. The inside of all the cottage windows getting a thorough deep clean. South West Power Distribution checking the voltage supply to our property, giving me a definite case of Land Rover Defender envy. Normal stuff for changeover day :-)
