Unlike the iPhone, I don't need to have an icon on one of my (many, configurable) screens to launch it .. I can also select any installed app from a menu.
I don't have ICS but all of my screens are organised thematically for easy retrieval of the apps that I use. I certainly don't have over 400 apps but I don't use my phone for 400 tasks .. I use it for a handful of (very important) things and it performs those tasks as well as it did when I bought it.
My phone was fully capable when I bought it and it will remain that way until I replace it. Unlike my iPhone, which was crippled by a mandatory update, I have complete control over the software and OS on my device.
