I had a wonderful experience with Bear Tootin and their management team. They were extremely helpful. Everything was clean, and cozy in the cabin. They answered all questions promptly and were very eager to make sure our stay was as stress free as possible. Beautiful mountain getaway for my friends, and family. The fact that they are a family oriented business just makes it even better! Thank you Bear Tootin for a great trip with the best accommodations we could ask for!

My family, friends and I just finished up yet another great vacation at a cabin we rented from Bear Tootin Cabin Rentals. This is our 3rd year renting a cabin from them and each year is better then the last! We had the pleasure of vacationing at Bearfoot Lodge and I really don't think it gets much better then this property! The views were spectacular (there aren't enough words to describe how beautiful they were). The grounds immaculate, clean and well manicured. The deck around the cabin was so peaceful and fresh that I could actually sit outside by myself at night and not worry about any creepy crawlers! The inside was AMAZING, it's everything you would dream of when thinking of a Smokey Mountain cabin. The furnishings were beautiful, couches cozy, towels plush, toilet paper fluffy, dishes clean, appliances higher end and the rugs were so soft and clean that when my nephew fell asleep (after a long day of hiking) on it we just covered him up and let him be. THE BEDS!!!!! OH-MY-GOODNESS. THE BEDS! I know this will sound cheesy but I would imagine those beds are as close to sleeping on clouds as you can get. We all agreed they were so fabulous! Clean and crisp bedding, soft yet firm mattresses and falling asleep in "someone else's" bed was not a problem for anyone. I feel so fortunate to have been a guest of Bear Tootin and Bearfoot Lodge, they made us feel so welcomed. After we got home we realized my daughter left her "animal blanket" back at the cabin, panicking I called Deva from Bear Tootin at 10pm and she had housekeeping retrieve it and mailed it to us the very next morning. Amazing people, amazing cabins. Can't wait until next year!

First of all, beware of their Google reviews. Four of them have been left by employees (two of whom switched last names with other employess - how shady can one company be??) Secondly, the business address listed is an empty building, with packed boxes (also suspicious, as 'businesses' in my area definitely do not do these sorts of things). One more thing before the actual review of the visit: they are NOT BBB accredited, though I've started the process of filing a complaint against them through BBB anyway). Moving on, to say we were disappointed in this 'management' company would be a severe understatement. When we arrived, the beds still had linens from the previous guests, the bathrooms were disgusting, and the trash was full, just to name a few things. I was blatantly lied to and told it was a 'glitch in their system' by one of the owners, while the other owner told me a completely different story. An hour and a half after our check-in time, when the 'cleaning crew' (two people at first, then another person showed up 8 minutes later) did show up, they brought no clean linens and left with no dirty linens (indicating they left dirty sheets on the bed), put dirty dishes from the sink to the cabinets without washing them (the sink had no water in it, so they clearly were not washed), and they were there for a TOTAL of 24 minutes to 'clean' an entire cabin. It took me until 10:30 p.m. to get clean sheets delivered. (They did refund my cleaning fee, but that was completely insufficient for the amount of things that went wrong - I would rather have a nice vacation with my family than the $100.) The fridge will freeze your food and ruin all vegetables on any setting you try. The only shower would not drain; in fact, not only would it not drain, but black debris would come up out of the drain when you ran water. Any time I called with what were obviously valid complaints, these owners were very condescending and rude. (I am very aware that they are going to try to discredit my review, just like they have all their other bad reviews, but I can assure you that I have many time-stamped pictures, videos, and phone logs to prove otherwise.) There were tons of great things about our trip, none of which were this management company. The cabin itself would have been A-OK if they had been even slightly interested in keeping the property functional.

Response from the owner - 4 months ago
This is Jerry & Deva, the owners of Bear Tootin cabin rentals. We wish that everything could go perfect with each reservation... but this one started off with the guest checking in early to a dirty cabin. Our cleaners had been cleaning the cabin in the afternoon & left to go to lunch, when they came back around 2pm the guest were in the cabin with dogs & they refused to let the cleaners back in. At 4pm they called us & said they just got to the cabin & the cabin was dirty & they demanded to be relocated. With us being of of town, it did take a bit to figure out what had happened. After being notified we sent everyone we could to get the cabin cleaned as fast as possible (inside there was already a clean bag of linens still tided up from when the cleaners where there the 1st time). We started off with a bad impression & we tried to make it right with a full cleaning refund + more. For the rest of their stay they threaten by phone & text to all of our staff member's for hours. We personally cut our own vacation short (at Myrtle Beach) to come back & assist this guest directly with the rest of their stay. We never could make it up to them no mater what we did. We want future guest to know that mistakes can happen but our hearts are in the right place. Also to explain a few misunderstood things about the reviews & our office. 5 of our reviews are written by our family member's that have stayed in the cabins or by a few of our cabin owners because when you first put your company on "Google Maps", you have to have at least 5 reviews so you will show up when someone does a search for cabin rentals. With today's technology of emails & keyless door entries we wanted our guest to be able to go straight to their cabin & loose no time in starting their vacation. Our address that is listed is mainly for our employees, shipping & laundry facility. At the time that this guest went to our office we had it cleaned out for renovates, and we only use 1/2 of our building for now but our guest can still reach us by email, phone, text or we will come to you at the cabin.
