Why I Write (Like I do)
The story is the important part. The audience determines
the words. I write nonfiction. The stories are true; you may not believe it,
but they are. I lived them. They happened either to me or around me. I just
tell them the way they originally happened. My ...

Political Lies -----What should we do?
So, when is a lie about someone else protected as free speech
under the First Amendment and when is it not? Should we really need the U S Supreme Court to weigh in
on this question or do the states with laws banning “actionable infringements”
on one’s abili...

I was watching a recording of the Animal Planet’s “Wild
West Alaska” last evening where they told of one of Ken’s acquaintances, an
Alaskan Native, that Ken had talked into bringing in a rifle to upgrade and
“fix;” all in the hopes of Ken talking Jim, the o...

Great Journey to Europe – Part II
The next day we departed Zermatt for Luzern. We casually
walked over to the train station in Zermatt and loaded onto the Glacier Express — billed as the “the
fastest slow train” in the world. Patsy and I were fortunate enough to score a
“facing forward” pai...

Mukluks - More on the subject
It seems like every week since winter started, I have received one or two requests for my copy of the Mukluk making pamphlet that I discussed in the post below "Mukluk Central." The cold weather must be ratcheting up the interest! It tickles me to get these...

I picked up this pamphlet at an Alaskan State Fare in '71 or '72 and every winter I start to get requests for it. To date, the requests have been in the 30s or 40s; I didn't start counting until recently. I even have a few from Europe. Tickles me every time.
