I am reading an old book from 1860 and there is a reference to "snakes in the boots" in regards to alcohol "cursing the land". I Googled it up and sure enough it was a common phrase back then:

"delirium and tremors caused by alcohol withdrawal"

Makes Woody's "There's a snake in my boot!" comment in Toy Story much more funny. LOL

One of the many great comics you can read for free at GoComics.com! Follow us for giveaways & giggles.

Small store, good for picking up that last minute or forgotten item for dinner. Some of the canned goods may be out of date, I always double check. They have liquor department, bakery, and also an eatery in the back. The tamales are very tasty, and the horchata is good as well as hot in the winter. :) They have a good price on fresh chicken and the charcoal steaks at times so I always make sure to read the advertisement if you get it in the mail. Speaking Spanish is a plus here, but you can usually find someone who understands what you are looking for.
