I kind of want to be a bummer scientist. I would spend my days studying bummers and their corollaries. It would be a thankless but utterly necessary job.

The game's title is "You vs. Cat."

Yeah.

Exactly, +Kerry Amburgy-Dickson . Though they could be using some screen protection.

But I really hope nobody is declawing their cat - that's a horrible practice, no matter the excuse.

My review of ThatGameCompany's "Journey." I expected this game would be lovely, but I did not expect that it would be as focused and powerful as it is. It's a triumph.

I was discussing with friend about how the BSG board game had been designed for geeks, since obviously that is the main audience: there are so many tokens, pieces, cards, dice and character sheets that it almost looks like a mashup of D&D and Warhammer. WELL IT SEEMS LIKE IT HAS BEEN TOPPED

I liked all of the Mass Effect games, but the second one was my favorite. I wrote about why:

It's not impossible! Someone could make a seriously cool video game about The Hunger Games. Some thoughts on how to pull it off:

Over at Kotaku, we're going to start running roundups each Saturday highlighting our best articles from the week. Traffic's not a factor in selection, nor is newsworthiness.

We run hundreds of articles each week, so this should help people find the work we're proudest of. Here's week one:

Thanks! Yeah, Journey has some similarities with both ICO and SOTC. More aesthetic than mechanical, but they're still nice compliments to one another. Hope you dig it!

I was happy with how this piece came together; it's an idea I've been chewing on for a while now.

I'm not really one for the whole "games vs. narrative" debate, but this felt like it could be a useful perspective to share.

Can you give me an example of that? To me, it's the complete opposite. Game play can alter the narrative far more than narrative altering the game play.
