I avoided Hometown Motors for many years (after a domestic car value loop issue). Since then I have given them another chance. Kay has been the salesman for 3 new vehicle purchases. He kept it simple, honest and within what we were looking for. I can not tell you how much I love my truck. Wish I would have gone this route years ago. Over all, it's a car deal. You are going to have various risks involved no matter what, it's people who assemble these machines. Mistakes can and will occur. For my family the pay off has been far worth it. We really love our vehicles. Now the outfit in Ontario.....well....I leave this review on a positive note.

should have listened to my gut feeling when I read the other reviews on here! Drove all the way out there to test drive a truck - 2008 F-150 which we fell in love with. Noticed the check engine light was on and the salesman said it was probably because they had to jump start it that morning because all of the batteries died from the low temps...thought ok??.....he went and tested it and came back saying that it was a voltage error caused by a low battery - oddly though we had no problems starting it and battery gauge was reading fine - so, we asked that they note in our contract they would honor the fix if the light came back on - so, we get home and the next day the light comes back on - we go to get it checked - it is a drive train error and an engine fire failure error!!! Holy Smokes! I called the GM who tried to say these were new codes - I said not likely - if you reset the code without fixing the issues it is going to keep throwing the same codes until you do fix it - he said if we drive out there they will look at it - I said I am not really confident at this point you will fix it rather than hide it - he said if I take it to the local ford dealer he will call him and see if they will fix it under our warranty - I am thankful we paid they extra money for a 4 year warranty but dont feel we should have to put on our warranty for something they clearly lied about when we were there - trying to stay on the bright side - if we do need a new drive train or major repair at least it is something we wont have to worry about fixing down the road but very misleading dealer overall. **Update - luckily the brain was still covered under manufacturer warranty so that we replaced at no charge to us -about a week after getting the truck back from the brain repair we noticed power steering making noise - of course, the salesman just blew me off when I called to discuss it with him - about 3 weeks later the belt gave out and destroyed our wiring harness - I called them because I thought the additional warranty we purchased would cover it only to find that it wont - they were nice enough to come and get the truck and leave us a loner car - 2 weeks ago!! I called yesterday and the repair guy told me they had the wire harness in place and just needed one more part - I called today and another guy said they JUST got the harness on and found they ordered the wrong one and it will be even more time to get our truck back - more lies!! Had a really hard time not being angry with the poor guy that called with this information as I dont want to shoot the messenger - overall this dealer has not made us happy

Bought a 2008 Honda accord from these clowns 11 months ago. Carfax they showed me said it was a clean 1 owner! Just got back from trying to trade it in. Carfax is showing that I am not the 2nd owner but the 6th and it has been in a total loss accident with air bags deployed! VERY DISHONEST DEALERSHIP! BUYER BE WARE!

I was not impressed with this dealership. I drove from Boise based on what they had told me about a vehicle I had looked at online, and when I got there it was much different then they had represented. Very pushy trying to get me to go ahead with the purchase anyway. I will not be back.

I had been trying for about 6 months to buy a new/used car in the Boise Area with no luck. :( Steve's Hometown Motors in Weiser was the only dealerships that actually listened to my story and took the time to work with me and my financial situation. I Started the process on-line Friday night around 10 pm. Got a call around 9 am Saturday morning and had a brand new 2014 Ford Focus financed through Ford by 3 pm on Sat. Our salesman, Greg, was AWESOME and so was the Finance Manager, Nick! I just went in today, 3 month later, for my Free Oil Change and the entire staff including the Service Dept GREAT! I sell insurance and would/ do recommend all my client over to Steve's Hometown Motors in Weiser! This is NOW our families CAR DEALERSHIP for the future! Thanks gang for the FABULOUS SERVICE!!!

Recently had some work done on my car right from the start the guys at the service counter were super friendly and helpful getting my car into the shop. They even gave me a loaner car to drive while the work was being done. When i came to pick up the car they were even under the original estimate! Thanks Hometown!

DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM THIS DEALERSHIP! THEY "DOCTOR" SOME OF THEIR CARS! This is an update to "Bought a 2008 Used car." below. I have had the car 3 weeks now. Took it to a reputable mechanic (not Hometown) They said it is an obvious front and rear main seal leaking, and has been for a long time. great 101 point inspection Hometown. This fix requires a engine, or trans pull to fix. That is not all though, Noticed that on cold startup it had a Severe lifter rattle for a few seconds. I changed the oil and found a very thick grade oil in it. After replacing it with the proper grade oil, the car has now developed a rod knock. The brake light comes on all the time and wheel shakes when brakes are applied at high speeds. Never noticed any of this on the test drive. I was assured the car was in perfect mechanical shape. No help from the dealer. AS IS you know. Very frustrating.
