It was too murky for a hillwalk, so we changed plans and visited #Culloden instead. Very eerie and atmospheric. We've been following #Outlander so this was another film location we ticked off.

Visited Doune Castle yesterday - a stunning 14th century fortification. It was used as an #Outlander film location for Castle Leoch, the home of Colum MacKenzie and the MacKenzie Clan in the 1700's. It was also used as the ruin that Claire and Frank visited in the 1940's on their honeymoon.

Spent my #birthday hillwalking in the #Cairngorms then stayed overnight in #Pitlochry #Perthshire. The Pitlochry Hydro Hotel was lovely and we had a game of putting. I won and lost all in the space of an hour.

Perth becomes thronged with people again on Saturday 3rd December for the Christmas Lantern Parade and Nativity Scene.

It's a wonderful community event involving local schools, churches and community groups. The Lantern parade starts at St Ninian's Cathedral at 5pm (bring your own lantern) and finishes at St John's Kirk, St John's Place at 6pm. Then there is carol singing, and bell ringing and the unveiling of the Nativity Scene. What a lovely way to start the festive season. All welcome to join in.
