Dear friends. I would like to share with all of you our new concept for the "orbital sweeper" to adress the mounting problem of space debris in low Earth orbit. Read more about it in our web page.
Happy New Year,

Franklin

Estimadas amigas y amigos.

“I don't think the human race will survive the next thousand years, unless we spread into space. There are too many accidents that can befall life on a single planet. But I'm an optimist. We will reach out to the stars.”

Stephen W. Hawking (born 8 January 1942)

Dear friends

Today our dear friend and colleague of many years, Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield, launched on a Soyuz rocket from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in the Republic of Kazakhstan in Central Asia. As Expedition 34, he and his crewmates Tom Marshburn of the US and Roman Romanenko of Russia will arrive at the ISS on Friday. Chris will be the first Canadian to command the station. I wish him and his team a safe and succesful mission.

Queridas amigas y amigos

Today in Space History ::

1957 - UN calls for inspections to insure objects in outer space only for peaceful purposes - The General Assembly of the United Nations adopted Resolution 1148 (XII), calling, in part, for "the joint study of an inspection system designed to ensure that the sending of objects through outer space shall be exclusively for peaceful and scientific purposes."

1969 - Apollo 12 was the sixth manned flight in the United States Apollo program and the second to land on the Moon (an H type mission). It was launched on November 14, 1969 from the Kennedy Space Center, Florida, four months after Apollo 11.

"Today it is important to go and vote. It is our constitutional right and our duty...
