10 Steps to a Healthy Diet. Step 2.

Bread, cereals, pasta, potatoes - all #carbohydrates should be taken several times a day, at every meal. Carbohydrates are our main source of #energy. Approximately half of your daily diet should include carbohydrates. Be careful with #lowcarbdiet  !

There are two types of carbohydrates - complex carbohydrates and simple sugars. Try to avoid simple sugars (found in cakes and biscuits, soft drinks and juices, jam and honey). #Sugar is a source of excess calories. Complex carbohydrates provide more sustained energy, #fiber and greater nutritional value. The best sources of complex carbohydrates are vegetables, fruits and whole grains. Try to choose bread and pasta made with whole wheat flour. Nuts and seeds also contain complex carbohydrates but they are usually high in fat, so they should not be a primary source of carbohydrates in your diet.
